3D Chess

I've been playing a variant of chess - 3D Chess (using the Millennium 3D Chess* rules developed by William D'Agostino) for about 30 years. I love the game - it's a fast paced and complex variant on regular chess which uses 3 8x8 boards stacked one upon the other making a solid chess board.

Pieces move as you would expect with the addition of being able to also move through space to different boards. See the Yahoo Millennium_3D_Chess group for a full explanation.

Coming soon - a picture of MY 3D Chess sets - the fast crude plastic set I use in my classroom and the nicer glass set I'm working on.

Dimensionalized Chess

This is another variant of 3D Chess that I've been playing against the developer, Paul Glover - I beat him in the first game and I think I'll take him again in the 2nd, but the man is a VERY good player. Check it out!
Here's some shots of the prototype of the nice glass and wood set I'm working on. There are some flaws here, as expected with a prototype but it'll give you a good idea of what it'll look like.

Here's a shot of the prototype with my game against Will D'Agostino (move 31) in progress.

And here's my 'Millennium-II Cross Chessboard' in Oak, Acrylic, and Steel:

Finally, a small portable chess set. Small, easy to transport, fast to assemble.

Here's a shot of the Star Trek 3D Chess Set I just made from scrap bits hanging about my lab.
